PARENT COACHING
Most people will agree that being a parent is the most important job that a person can do, yet unlike the majority of jobs, you receive:
-
No manual
-
No support
-
No training
So it is not surprising that most parents, at times, find themselves asking:
"What do I do now?""What is the best way to handle
this?"
At this point, Mums and Dads can:
|
A. Get information from books or
the internet on parenting |
 |
B. Phone a friend |
|
C. Watch parenting programmes on TV |
|
D. Work with a Professional Parent Coach |
Now think about an athlete who is striving to improve his or her game. What could they do that would lead to the most rapid improvement?

A. Get information from books
or the internet on athletics |

D. Work with a Professional Coach |
Obvious isn't it! The same is true for parenting.

How Coaching Works
Coaching usually takes place over the telephone and is suitable for
parents with children of any age. We can arrange face-to-face consultations
for parents living within travelling distance of Bath in the UK. Sessions
are booked at a regular time each week. The client is responsible for
calling the coach. If you live outside the UK, we can usually arrange
to call you.
During the first session
We develop an understanding of the difficulties and consider what might
have caused them, what is triggering them and what is maintaining them.
We immediately start to work on the issues that are important to you.
Your coach will work with you to establish what it is that you want
to achieve and start to develop an action plan.
During subsequent sessions
We develop a plan of action that might involve new ways of communicating,
using different responses to the problem behaviour and initiating new
positive ways of interacting.
How much does it cost?
The initial consultation usually last up to 50 minutes and costs £50.
Thereafter sessions are charged at £60 per hour. We ask parents
book and pay for a set of sessions in advance. Appointments can be re-scheduled
if necessary. Our aim is to help you as quickly as possible and we are
happy to refund the cost of any unused sessions. 24 hours notice is
required for cancellation.
Parents start by choosing one of the options below. Alternatively, we
can design a tailor-made programme based on individual needs.
